Hi, I’m Vellaswamy Vanitha, a professional cricketer. I have played for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team on many occasions. All the credit for my success goes to my parents, sibling, mentors and friends who have supported my life in this sport.
In 2020, I suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in a very important period in my career. I was devastated at first and was really worried about my future.
However, after talking to my doctors, I realized I had to be patient and fight through this to fulfill my dream in the sport of life. Now, I am back on the pitch and playing for Bengal. Even at 31, I know I still have it in me to don the blue of India again and make my nation proud. If I could do it, why can’t you? May the sport of life never stop.
