Hi, I’m Ashique Kuruniyan, a professional footballer for the Indian National Team. I am an Intercontinental Cup winner with India. All the credit for my success goes to my family, friends and mentors who kept supporting me through thick and thin in my life in this sport.
In 2020, while playing for Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League, I had a collision with a player and suffered fractures on my face. I had to get myself operated and played just 8 games that year in what was supposed to be a very important season for me. Despite being devastated at first, I fought back the pain and had a successful surgery.
Now, I’m back on the pitch, where I belong, and am going from strength to strength in the quest in my sport of life. They say, “Don’t focus on the pain, focus on the progress.” May the sport of life never stop.
